Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Dabble, you will play a hands-on role in planning, developing, and delivering complex projects across sports wagering and social media. Working within a supportive and dynamic environment, you will act as a senior technical contributor and mentor, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to build and maintain high-quality frontend and backend systems.

You will partner across Product, Design, Data, and Operations to translate business and customer needs into scalable, reliable technical solutions. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys contributing to architectural decisions and driving continuous improvement to support broader business goals.

Primary Location

This role is currently open to all locations within Australia.

Responsibilities

• Help plan, develop, and maintain both the frontend and backend codebases

• Build maintainable, performant, and fit-for-purpose software in a timely manner

• Lead conversations regarding software development processes, agile rituals like stand-ups and retros, and platform architecture

• Prioritise non-functional requirements including security, performance, scalability, and reliability in every solution

• Stay current with cutting edge software approaches and proactively share that knowledge with the wider development team

• Keep your technical knowledge up to date by exploring new development tools and programming techniques
  

Skills & Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in a similar software engineering role

• Proven commercial experience working with Node.js

• Strong hands-on experience with React, React Native, and relevant frontend technologies

• Practical experience working with AWS or other major cloud providers

• Demonstrated background in developing for both mobile and web platforms

• A track record of mentoring other developers and leading technical projects

• Ability to own projects end-to-end with a strong understanding of software design principles

• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a remote-first team

Remuneration

The advertised salary for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 + Super + Benefits with room to be flexible.
