Dabble was founded in May 2020 by brothers Jon and Dave Robin, together with Scott Hutchens as CTO. The idea grew from Jon’s deep background in affiliate marketing and strategy in the sports betting space, and a vision to reimagine wagering as something social and community driven rather than a solitary act. The founders combined traditional betting with social elements that allow users to follow friends, share bets and interact inside the app, creating a modern sports betting experience that feels more like social media than a typical bookmaker.

Dabble launched publicly in Australia, opening the platform to its first users and introducing social first sports betting at scale. The launch marked the transition from build to live product, with real money wagering, live sports markets, and community features all coming together in one app. This milestone established the foundation for Dabble’s growth, user feedback loops, and rapid product iteration in the months that followed.

Dabble made its first major international expansion by launching in the United States from Austin, Texas as a daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator. Rather than offering traditional sportsbook wagering like in Australia, the US product was tailored to the local regulatory environment by focusing on Pick ’Em and DFS games, while preserving Dabble’s signature social features such as live banter channels, community feeds, player follows and the ability to copy other users’ picks. The launch positioned Dabble among the growing number of DFS platforms in the US, allowing fans to play on major sports contests across NFL, NBA, MLB and more!

Dabble secured an online casino licence from the UK Gambling Commission, adding to its existing UK sports betting permissions and opening the door for potential expansion into casino and virtual gaming products under the same regulatory authority
